　米Intel Corp.とスウェーデンTelefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson社は，フラッシュEEPROMに関して契約を結んだと発表した（Intel社リリース文，Ericsson社リリース文）。Ericsson社の次世代携帯電話機向けに，Intel社がフラッシュEEPROMを今後３年間供給する。さらに，両社は，音声処理機能とインターネット・アクセス機能，無線通信機能を備えた，次世代モバイル機器向けのフラッシュEEPROMに関して共同で仕様を決めていく。リリース文には，Intel社のRon Smith氏（vice president and general manager, Wireless Communications and Computing Group)とEricsson社のJan Ahrenbring氏（Vice President, Marketing and Communications, Mobile Communications)がコメントを寄せている。
