無線を使って家庭内で音声やデータをやりとりする規格HomeRFの標準化を進めているワーキング・グループが，Shared Wireless Access Protocol（SWAP）1.0の仕様を確定した。仕様の策定には，Butterfly Communications，Compaq Computer Corporation，Hewlett-Packard，IBM，Intel，iReady，Microsoft，Motorola，OTC Telecom，Proxim，Samsung，Symbionics ，Symbol Technologiesが参加した。 　SWAP1.0準拠の製品は99年末にも登場する見込みである。
